Dr. Giovanna Ciocca, MD, FAAP, FAASD
Dr. Giovanna Ciocca is a highly accomplished Medical Doctor with board certifications in both Dermatology and Pediatrics. She completed her Pediatrics residency at Miami Children’s Hospital, followed by a clinical and research fellowship in dermatology at The Dermatology and Aesthetic Center in Boca Raton, Florida. She then pursued a Pediatric Dermatology fellowship at Miami Children’s Hospital.
At the start of her career, Dr. Ciocca had the privilege of working closely with the late Dr. Marta Rendon, a renowned expert in cosmetic and clinical dermatology. Dr. Rendon made significant contributions to the field and served as both a mentor and inspiration to Dr. Ciocca. Tragically, Dr. Rendon passed away, leaving behind a lasting legacy.
During their collaboration, Drs. Ciocca and Rendon led groundbreaking research and pioneered advanced cosmetic and clinical treatments. Their shared passion for dermatological innovation drove them to develop cutting-edge therapies that transformed patient care.
Honoring Dr. Rendon’s legacy, Dr. Ciocca remains committed to excellence in dermatology. She provides top-tier patient care, upholding the high standards set by her mentor. Through continuous learning and international travel, she stays at the forefront of dermatological advancements, refining treatments to achieve the best possible outcomes for her patients.
Throughout her career, Dr. Ciocca has cultivated a strong interest in vascular birthmarks, acne, dermatitis, and immunomodulation therapy. As a member of the American Society of Laser Medicine, she provides advanced laser treatments for various skin conditions.
In cosmetic dermatology, she specializes as an advanced injector, continuing her late mentor’s legacy by combining injection techniques with laser technology to deliver top-tier anti-aging procedures.
As a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Florida International University, she trains and mentors medical residents, nurse practitioners, and physician assistant students, shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.
National and international organizations have recognized Dr. Ciocca’s expertise and contributions. Prestigious conferences and board review courses have invited her as a key speaker. She actively reviews for several dermatology journals and serves as a speaker and consultant for major pharmaceutical companies, showcasing her deep knowledge and understanding of dermatology.
Dr. Ciocca actively leads cutting-edge research as a principal investigator, conducting phase one to phase three clinical trials. She explores breakthrough treatments for skin conditions, with a special focus on immunomodulation. She authors and edits numerous articles in general and pediatric dermatology journals, and she showcases her expertise in a co–authored chapter of a respected pediatric dermatology book.
